And the Oscar should go to... Mark Seliger.

If you know who Mark Seliger is, you might be very familiar with his recent work. If the name doesn't ring a bell, you might still be very familiar with his work.

Seliger is a New York City-based photographer, famous for his portraiture work. He was chief photographer for Rolling Stone magazine for most of the 90s. More recently, he has worked for Conde Naste Publications, especially GQ and Vanity Fair. It's fair to say that you've seen more than one of his images on the cover a magazine. He has photographed basically everybody. Not me. Perhaps not you. But everybody else.

For the last three years he has been creating stunning portraits of guests during the Vanity Fair Oscar Party, all in a custom-built studio next to the party space.
